The three-way dilemma in China’s current political landscape. The announcement on July 1, 2025, formally notified the outside world of the transfer of political decision-making authority in China. The final authority over China’s power execution procedures was formally transferred from the Xi Jinping faction to China’s “Central Party Decision-Making, Deliberation, and Coordination Body.” This marks the formal stripping of governing power from the Xi Jinping faction. It also signifies the formal completion of the power transfer process led by the Chinese military. However, this transfer process was “imbued with Hu Jintao’s style,” which sowed the seeds of defeat for the Chinese military and the “extra-mandate political forces.” The events of October 23, 2025, and January 24, 2026, serve as milestones demonstrating that the leaders of the Chinese military and the “extra-mandate political forces” have simultaneously become mired in a political stalemate.
Currently, the Xi Jinping faction (the holder of Auctoritas Caelestis), the leaders of the Chinese military, and the leaders of the extra-mandate political forces are all simultaneously trapped in a political stalemate. None of them has suffered a complete political demise, nor has any been fully reborn. Each possesses the potential for a sudden, complete resurgence, as well as the risk of a sudden, total collapse. All three parties must find a way to break free from this impasse.
